Do you know what any of these labels mean? Do you know which are regulated and which aren’t?
Don’t fall prey to many of the marketing strategies used on food labels that don’t hold value. Many times these labels or claims just allow the company to charge more money for the product, and the individual who purchases the product receives no additional benefit. Do your research, and be an educated consumer!
Everything is made of chemicals.
Just because something is “natural” doesn’t make it good for you, just like something that is synthetic isn’t necessarily bad for you.
Whether or not you can pronounce an ingredient or compound tells you nothing about how good or bad for you it is. Apples, for example, contain loads of compounds that most people wouldn’t be able to pronounce.
Organic farming still uses pesticides, and although these pesticides are “natural”, they still have the potential to be toxic at high levels. The dose makes the poison with anything!
Genetic modification can reduce the need for pesticides. Without the ability to control pests, food production would severely suffer.
